Tuvia Goldstein is in my morning shiur. To the best of my recollection, he has not missed a single shiur thus far. This is quite a record for any Shana Aleph student, and an achievement for which Tuvia should be proud.

Not only is he present in shiur, he is ACTIVE in both shiur and chevruta. During chevruta time, he is able to sit for long periods and focus on the sugya being discussed. He is keen on understanding every word, every phrase, every nuance. Sometimes, he over-reads into the sugya, gets the wrong pshat, and gets frustrated. But, he is learning that it is ok to make mistakes. Moreover, “Ein mi sh’koneh Torah eleh im ken nichshal bahem”—Growth in Torah comes through making mistakes. In shiur, he is attentive, and asks questions when something is not clear to him.

During this time of year, many prospective students and parents come to the yeshiva in order to see if Lev HaTorah is the right yeshiva for them. Typically, after speaking with them, I will try and pair up the prospective student with one of our current students, so that the prospective student can get the current student’s perspective. Tuvia Goldstein is one of the students whom I look to pair a prospective student, because he is genuinely enthusiastic about the program here.

Yashar Koach to you, Marc and the rest of the people who have made both time and monetary investments in our Shana Aleph and Shana Bet talmidim!

B’vracha,

Rav Michael Cytrin
