I understand that I am supposed to give you a testimonial for Becky Smith, detailing her progress so far this year in MMY.

Becky is doing unbelievably well! She is a very unique girl who comes from a strong religious background – went to Bais Yaakov – and appreciates and respects that background. At the same time, she is a thinking girl who decided that she needs to broaden her horizons and be exposed to other Torah approaches that were not available to her until now. As her Gemara teacher, I can attest that she is making exceptional progress in this very new area (we’re learning Bava Kama, and she is one of the strongest students in the class). She may be the smartest girl in MMY, she is extremely thought out, and has quite a mind. Furthermore, I’ve had a number of conversations with Becky on both halachic and hashkafic matters, and I can tell you that she is internalizing everything she learns and is working on applying it to her life in a very real way.

I believe she’s also going to be one of the editors of Kol Mevaseret, our annual Torah journal.
