Nishmat Haskama
To Whom It May Concern,
Rebecca has asked me to write a few lines to inform you of her advancement and growth over the course of her studies with us in Midreshet Nishmat, Jerusalem.
Since her arrival at Nishmat, Rebecca has taken the opportunities for growth and learning and used them to her full ability. She regularly attends all the different shiurim throughout the day and night and has arranged three different chavrutahs to learn bekiut Torah, Neviim, and Ketuvim. At Nishmat, each student is required to take on a personal project in which she is required to learn a certain subject beiyun (in depth study). For this, Rebecca has decided to begin an in depth study of Sefer HaKuzari which incorporates outside sources which further discuss matter focused on in the work.
Rebecca has also been working seriously on her Tefillah. She takes part in a small discussion group every Sunday afternoon with Rav Yehoshua Weisberg (the head of the Shana Baaretz Program), which deals with the challenges of prayer and how to better connect to it.
Every week, on Wednesday, for several hours, Rebecca also volunteers in a chesed project. She visits a nursing home where she visits an elderly lady who is lonely for company.
Rebecca has been making excellent progress in her year thus far, and I look forward to watching her continue to grow.
Blessings,
(Rav) David Sperling
